Portinatx Charter is a new boat-hire company and the only such company in Sant Joan de Labritja. It is located on the northern coast, where the most special and unspoilt part of Ibiza lies hidden. Portinatx Charter has been set up with the aim of offering this island’s least-known treasures: turquoise beaches and bays hidden amongst the vegetation, wild landscapes, and the sort of tranquillity that can only be enjoyed from the sea. The calm waters around Portinatx make it the ideal place for those who love nautical tourism.
We are a young company and we have put our faith in the best names in the nautical sector so that our clients can enjoy the highest possible quality and comfort when sailing. As such, our fleet includes names such as Zodiac, the market leader in pneumatic and semi-rigid crafts; Jeanneau, the renowned French shipbuilder, and Minorcan ‘llaüts’. They are all equipped with Yamaha outboard motors.
The island of Ibiza is made up of five municipalities: Eivissa, which is the capital, Santa Eulària des Riu, Sant Antoni de Portmany, Sant Josep de sa Talaia and Sant Joan de Labritja. Each one of them offer the visitor different and complementary possibilities at the same time. According to the latest data from the 2007 register, the population of the island exceeds 117,000 people, although the number of residents increases considerably during the summer months.
Portinatx belongs to the municipality of Sant Joan, located in the northern Ibiza, it is the least habited of Ibiza. With a population of around 4,500 people, this area has extensive virgin forests and remarkable rural extensions, where a farming-based way of life is maintained. In its mountains, crossed by torrents and terraces of stone, the nature can be enjoyed with all intensity, as in its cliffs and stretches of coast.
The Municipality is composed of four parishes: Sant Joan, Sant Miquel, Sant Vicent and Sant Llorenç. There are small towns where lifelong neighbors live with people from all over the world, who have wanted to take refuge in the most rural Ibiza. The municipality shares with Sant Antoni the Area of Special Interest of Es Amunts, an area of great ecological value where an unique fauna and flora coexist. It also offers surprising excursions, such as the Balanzat defensive tower, the nearby caves d'en Marçà or the Es Culleram cave site, where the most important archaeological site of Pitiusas history was found: The goddess Tanit.
The coast is full of cliffs, interrupted only by some lovely coves, such as Benirràs, famous for its hippie atmosphere and its percussionists, Es Caló des Multons, Cala Xarraca, Es Caló d'en Serra or Cala de Sant Vicent.
